The first step in our process is Architecture and Roadmapping. To start, our cloud architects will sit down with your team to discuss the functional and technical requirements of your environments. In order to create an accurate cloud architecture, we need to understand your existing enterprise footprint. During this time we will analyze your enterprise’s SLA requirements around things like performance, scalability, high availability and disaster recovery. This will enable us to architect the solution to meet your requirements and additionally, we can then start to determine what level of managed services support you will need after the migration. The goal of this stage is to create an accurate technical architecture, so that we can design the components to build your new Cloud platform. This is now part of your new roadmap to success.
Once we have a solid understanding of the technical architecture and have designed the components of your new cloud platform, we will work to analyze the total cost of your business as usual solution in relation to the newly architected cloud environment. The business as usual analysis includes the technical debt components of things like labor, servers, storage, networking, software and data center costs. At this time, we will also want to address your plans for future growth and scalability in order to plan for costs relating to 1, 3, and 5 year projections. We want to show you clear benefits and costs related to your new cloud architecture before you jump in, so there are no cost surprises down the road. Just so you know, our TCO analysis have shown on average a 30% to 40% cost savings by migrating to the cloud. Additionally, the engineers running the existing on-premises systems will have more time to work on higher-value business-critical tasks. The entire goal of this stage is something we refer to as “know before you go.”
We have now architected your new cloud solution and discussed expected costs, both now and at years 1, 3, and 5, but how are you going to obtain the necessary cloud credits to make it all happen? In step 3, Cloud contracts made easy, our Cloud solutions team will help you determine the method in which you will acquire your cloud credits. Oracle has a couple of different methods to acquire cloud credits. The first being Universal Cloud Credits. It is important to understand here that contract term and price are components to drive discount. This is the quickest and easiest method to get started. The second method to acquire cloud credits is what Oracle calls BYOL, or Bring Your Own License. This program can be a good fit that can save you money if when you initially acquired your on-premises software from Oracle, you bought them at a large discount. It then becomes a simple math equation to determine if you should buy all new UCCs or entertain the BYOL option to obtain your cloud credits. As an added bonus, the Cloud Managed Service Provider agreement Arisant has negotiated with Oracle allows us to secure cloud credits on your behalf, directly from Oracle. So you ask, why does this matter? The benefit is that your contract is with us. We’ve already taken care of all of the negotiations with Oracle and can actually meet some terms and conditions where Oracle legal can and will not waiver. In the end, our goal is to help you select the right cloud agreement based on your business and business specific needs.
Now, we have architected your new cloud solution, compared the costs to your existing environment, and selected the right cloud agreement to get the job done. It’s time for the fun part, the actual migration. At this point, we will begin to provision and implement your solution following a proven methodology which we have developed over the course of more than a decade. Our methodology has contributed to dozens of successful migrations. Our highly skilled team will build, migrate and implement your custom cloud solution. Furthermore, we will support user acceptance testing and oversee go-live and cutover to ensure your new cloud based system doesn’t skip a beat. We understand how important these mission-critical services are to the operation of your business, so we do everything in our power to ensure as little down time as possible. In the end, our team will configure a highly secure, highly scalable and highly performant system that will meet and exceed your expectations for years to come.
However, architecting, building and implementing your new system does not mark the end of your journey to the cloud. Arisant has what we call second day services or managed cloud services.
